Fathers and Sons

Sons inherit far more than their fathers’ DNA strands. They often wind up developing similar habits, partaking in the same behaviors, and even growing to be similar in character. In the young stages of their development, sons may be quite stubborn and resistant to their father’s way of thinking. However, as time advances, and both get older, there comes a time when the reverse is true; fathers age and settle in their ways, dismissing their matured sons’ advice. This piece captures the recursive defiance of this process, inspired by Ivan Turgenev’s classic novel Fathers and Sons, in which the author writes about this inevitable and growing divide between generations.
